Aspiral Alumni Awet Teame and Andy Johnson in Cop Comedy from Pica Films

Aspiral Alumni Awet Teame & Andy JohnsonAspiral Acting Studio alumni Awet Teame and Andy Johnson star in a cop comedy filmed this past weekend (May 3 & 4) for the Boston 48 Hour Film Project.

Awet is Commissioner Jacqueline Taint-Jones, and Andy is Officer T. Q. A. Hawthorne. “In the criminal justice system, all laws are created with a purpose. But for some laws, that purpose is forgotten. Completely. This is the story of the courageous officers appointed to uphold these irrelevant laws—the Pointless and Anachronistic Laws Squad, or P.A.L.S.” This is the second time Teame and Johnson have worked with Pica films (on separate projects), a testimony to how much the these actors bring to their work.

The film will be screened Tuesday, May 6, at 9:30pm at the Kendall Square Cinema. For more information, see the 48 Hour Film Project website.

Postscript: P.A.L.S. won the audience award for movies screened May 6. It now advances to the 2nd round of award screenings, to be held at the Kenmore Square Cinema on June 5th, time TBA. See www.48hourfilm.com/en/boston/ for more details.
