Working in film, television, and theatrical communities, Ann is a seasoned casting director with over 30 years of experience. Known to many industry professionals as the “Queen of Casting”, Ann Baker founded Ann Baker Casting in 1980. She served as casting director for several series and movies seen on ABC, PBS, HBO, CBS, and NBC. She produced New York City’s Off-Broadway production of First Night and has coached some of Boston’s most well-known radio personalities. From 1982 to 1990, she served as the New England casting liaison for ABC-NY, and was the casting director for the ABC-TV series “Spenser: For Hire,” the feature film Mr. North produced by John Huston, the Emmy Award winning PBS series “Concealed Enemies,” a CBS movie of the week First Affair, and The Gathering Part II for NBC. For 11 years she ran her own full-service organization, Ann Baker Casting Company. She also spent six years as an Associate Casting Director for Boston Casting. She is a recognized leader in the development of the industrial film market and has worked with producers from Digital, General Electric, Raytheon, and the AMA. Ann specializes in Presentation Coaching as well as beginner and advanced on camera commercial technique.
Today, Ann Baker has established herself as a powerful presence in the Boston community. She runs Ann Baker Professional Coaching, helping business professionals discover their true authentic selves, utilizing these qualities to inspire better communication and become powerful industry leaders. Her clients range from actors and television spokespersons to corporate CEO’s and executive management teams. In addition to professional coaching, she has addressed audiences at Brandies University, Emerson College, Boston University, and Boston Conservatory on the Power of Presence. She also serves as the on-camera technique coach at the Media Performance Institute in Boston.
