Guest Coach David Ryan Kopcych Begins Regular Visits to Aspiral Studio

DavidRyanKopcychActor, filmmaker, and former professional line dancer David Ryan Kopcych will be making regular visits to Aspiral Acting Studio as a guest coach alongside primary acting coach Albert M. Chan, starting this month.

David began his performance career as a professional line dancer. As a middle schooler, David began line dancing at the Rockin’ Horse Saloon, a local country bar. At the age of fourteen, he was asked to take over teaching line dance lessons at the club and shortly thereafter started competing. After a few years, David’s teaching and choreography had built him a reputation as the “Dance Hall Doctor” and earned him regular teaching and DJ’ing gigs up and down the east coast and at line dance and swing dance competitions. In his dance career, David twice danced at the World Championships and coached two World-Champion line dancers. David’s dance career came to an end in 2005 with a knee injury.

At the urging of his sister, David accompanied her to an audition for a local independent film. He was not intending to audition, but agreed after the director asked him to read for a role. He got the part, and at that moment he found his new love…acting. Since then, he has been active in the New England independent film scene, acting in numerous independent films and TV shows.

In 2008, he began acting training at the east coast branch of Carter Thor Studio, founded in LA by Cameron Thor and Alice Carter following their work with legendary coach Roy London. His four years of study there inspired him to begin collaborating with other students and actors to create and produce their own independent films, which he now continues to do.
